Terms and Conditions
The below policies, terms and conditions are put in place by TSD to ensure the well-being, health and care of all children is our top priority. So each child can get the most enjoyment out of their classes, while ensuring the ethos and values of the school are maintained.
Student class information
Correct uniform and footwear is to be worn for all classes. Please refer to the uniform list for further details. Those who do several classes a week are able to wear dancewear that is not part of the uniform, providing it is suitable.
Hair should be tied up in a pony tail or a bun. If pony tails are long they should be in a bun for acro.
Please bring water bottles to class, with water or diluted squash only.
No loose jewellery or watches to be worn in class.
Regular attendance is very important to the dancer’s progression.
Students in year 5 and above can leave the building at the end of class, if we have had parental permission given on our database.
Physical contact between student and teacher may be necessary during class when demonstrating or giving corrections.
Dancers are expected to be kind, courteous, polite and motivated during class.
Communication
Parents/Guardians must keep all contact details up to date on our database or alternatively notify us by email of any changes to personal details or the dancer’s medical information.
Communication from the dance school will be done by email, we also have a facebook page and whatsapp group.
Term Dates
TSD generally follows the term dates of the local schools, the dates are included in emails and will be on our social media pages and website.
Fees
Fees are based on 38 weeks of the year and divided into 12 equal monthly payments to be paid between the 1st and the 14th of every month. When setting up your subscription it will automatically be done for the 1st of each month. If you would like a different date [2nd-14th] you must notify us by email.
Fees for extras such as exams, shows, private lessons or resources will be invoiced and payments will be due within 14 days of the invoice.
Refunds or deductions will NOT be made due to your child’s absence.
If TSD has to cancel any classes over which we have no control the classes will be taken remotely or another class offered.
Charges
Late or missed payments will accrue a charge of £10 per transaction.
Unpaid accounts without communication will be taken to the small claims court to recover the fees.
Cancellation
If you decide to cancel any classes we need 4 weeks notice given by sending an email. Failure to do so will result in a further one month of fees.
Venues
We ask that all parents/guardians and dancers are respectful to other venue users and keep the venue spaces clean and tidy.
First Aid
TSD staff are trained in basic first aid and will administer when necessary.
Safe guarding and Risk Assessments
TSD has a safe guarding policy and complete risk assessments at all venues. All staff hold a full DBS certificate.
Social Media
TSd has an active website and social media accounts. Photos and videos may be used for promotional purposes. We also use recordings for teaching purposes, these are only shared with staff, senior assistants and sometimes students and are not for dancers to share on the social media platforms, unless permission is given.
Recordings for exams/ medal awards/ progress tracking and courses
It is necessary to record sessions for assessment purposes, this information is then shared with our exam board and the assessors. These recordings are not shared with any other party.
Personal Information
Personal information is collected about customers and dancers and will be used and stored in compliance with
GDPR 2018. It is shared with our exam board when necessary and also with event organisers when necessary. This information is not shared with 3rd parties without your knowledge.
